Yes — Tegbe really said it. During his Senate confirmation hearing, he promised to fix grid collapses in three months and said Nigerians should hold him accountable.

But a promise is not a plan. And that’s where your “how?” becomes the real question.

Can anyone fix Nigeria’s grid in 3 months?
Short answer: No. Not fully. Not even close.

Here’s why — and these are structural issues, not political talking points:

The transmission grid is over 50 years old

TCN, GENCOs, DISCOs don’t coordinate properly

Gas supply is unstable

Spinning reserve is almost zero

Vandalism and sabotage are constant

Sector debt is over ₦6 trillion

Distribution companies can’t even collect enough revenue to stay solvent

You don’t fix that in 90 days.
You don’t fix that in 1 year.
You don’t fix that with slogans.

At best, in 3 months, a minister can reduce collapses slightly by enforcing discipline and emergency repairs — but not eliminate them.

So, 240 million Nigerians skepticism is not only valid — it’s logical.
