Respectfully Your Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr. Peter Obi, leaders of opposition parties, and independent candidates, 240 million Nigerians are writing to express a deep and urgent concern shared by millions of Nigerians at home and abroad. Recent reports, including the analysis by Quartus Economics, state that Nigeria’s dollar GDP rose by 22 percent to approximately $307 billion in 2025, driven by stronger economic output and an appreciating naira. While these numbers may appear encouraging on paper, they do not reflect the lived reality of ordinary 240 million Nigerians.
The value of the naira against the dollar remains painfully weak. Economic statistics do not stop the daily killings of Nigerians by boko haram and other violent groups — a tragedy that has persisted from 1999 to this present year, 2026. GDP growth does not provide free or reliable electricity. It does not give Nigerians free or affordable access to Wi-Fi or data. It does not create the millions of jobs needed for a population of over 240 million Nigerians. It does not provide free housing, education, or healthcare.
For decades,240 million Nigerians have watched leaders across parties — ruling, opposition, and independent — trade blame, exchange slogans, take photo opportunities, and engage in political rivalry while the root causes of insecurity and underdevelopment remain unaddressed.
If you truly love Nigeria and value Nigerian lives, the time has come to set aside political differences. The nation cannot afford leaders fighting like adversaries while Nigerians suffer. We need unity of purpose, honesty, and a collective commitment to solving the foundational issues that fuel boko haram and other crises for decades
This is a call for collaboration, not competition. A call for courage, not convenience. A call for leadership that prioritizes 240 million Nigerian life above political gain.
Nigeria deserves better. Nigerians deserve better. And history will remember those who chose to act. This is a humble request
Faithfully,
Concerned 240 million Nigerians bleeding everyday/suffering in poverty & darkness
