On paper, we practice participatory democracy. In reality, we are witnessing a system where an individual or tiny clique decides "who gets what," effectively silencing genuine competition.
Every aspirant has a fundamental right to test their popularity and acceptability within their party before ever facing the general electorate. When political gladiators shut out qualified voices in favour of "preferred candidates," they aren't just picking a winner—they are weakening the foundation of our representation.
It’s time to move beyond hand-picked selections and return to the power of the vote.
Let the aspirants run. Let the members choose. Let the best ideas win.
