Senate Presidency: Drama As Akpabio, Oshiomhole Clash Over New Eligibility Rules

Senate’s tranquility was momentarily disturbed on Wednesday following a clash of interest between the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole over new amendment of eligibility rules for the coveted title of Senate Presidency.

Trouble started after Akpabio summarily dismissed a Point of Order by Oshiomhole to correct amendments he said were not properly captured as agreed behind closed doors on Tuesday.

It took time to restore normacy and a threat by Akpabio to
send the former Governor of Edo State out of the chamber to douse tension and Oshiomhole quiet.
