What You Must Do When You Have Lost Every Reason to Keep Moving Forward. Good evening, my Leekee family. I hope the day has been kind to you.

This message is not for everyone. But if you are currently walking through what I have come to call a dried season, then I believe this was written for you.

What a Dried Season Actually Looks Like?
A dried season is not a bad day. It is not even a difficult week. It is a prolonged stillness where nothing seems to shift. You look at your finances and see the same struggle. You look at your career and see the same ceiling. You look at your marriage, your health, your dreams, and everywhere you turn, you meet the same spot you were standing in six months ago.

Some of you know this feeling intimately. The business owner watching clients disappear while bills keep arriving. The wife or husband feeling the distance grow in silence. The graduate sending out applications that vanish into nowhere. The person of faith praying prayers that seem to hit a ceiling and fall back empty. If any of that lands close to home, stay with me.

A Story That Might Sound Familiar
Recently, I sat with a young man who walked into the room carrying the weight of the whole world on both shoulders. When we began the conversation, I asked him to give me the full detail of what was going on in his life. He looked at me and said, "West, I can no longer continue. My life is not moving forward." I asked him to explain what he meant.

He said everyone around him was moving forward. Building careers. Achieving things. His own life felt completely still. Like a clock that had stopped while every other clock kept ticking, and nobody even noticed his had fallen silent.

As a therapist, my work in that moment was to identify the root. And the moment he named his reasons, I already knew where the real problem lived. Because in my experience, the root of the problem is almost always where the solution hides. Then, I asked him one question.

"So you want to give up, not because your life is not moving, but because other people's lives appear to be moving?"

He looked at me with genuine surprise. Then he said quietly, "West, I do not have any reason to keep going. What do I do when there is nothing left to hold on to?" I took a breath and told him the truth.

The Lie That Comparison Tells
I said to him, "My brother, you are not drained because your life is empty. You are drained because you have been measuring your life against someone else's timeline. When you do that long enough, you begin to believe a quiet, destructive lie. The lie says you are behind. That you are failing. That everyone else has unlocked something that is somehow permanently unavailable to you."

Then I added, "That is not your reality. That is simply what comparison does when it goes unchallenged."

He looked at me as if he did not fully understand.
So I went deeper, using the wisdom of Solomon in Ecclesiastes . There is a season for everything. For joy and for sorrow. For movement and for stillness. Every single person you are comparing yourself with will have their own dried season. They have either not reached it yet or they are hiding it well. Right now, you are navigating yours. And navigating a difficult season is not the same thing as losing the race.

After I finished speaking, something in him shifted. The tension behind his eyes softened. He was quiet for a long moment. Then he looked at me and said, "So the reason I felt this way was not because I was stuck. It was because I had been comparing myself with others."

I nodded. "Yes. That is exactly it."

He then asked, "What can I do?"

I said, "This is what you should do. Believe in God's timing and stop comparing your life with others. That is the antidote to your problem. Nothing more."

A Word for You, Right Where You Are
My dear sister, my dear brother, if you are in a dried season tonight, whether that dryness has touched your finances, your marriage, your health, your faith, your business, or simply your daily will to keep going ยท hold on.

You are not behind. You are not forgotten. You are not the exception to every good thing that God has promised. You are in a season. And seasons, by their very nature, are temporary.

Entrust your life and your timeline to the God who sees every chapter, including the ones that feel empty right now. He is still writing your story. The pen has never left His hand. And your story is nowhere near finished. I hope this meets you exactly where you are tonight.๐Ÿค
