This post is misleading.

The UK Government did NOT say “divorce your husband and get deported,” and there is no rule targeting Nigerian women like this.

What’s true is:
If someone is in the UK on a spouse visa, their stay is linked to that marriage. If the marriage ends, that visa may no longer be valid and they may need to switch to another visa or leave.

That’s about immigration status, not a punishment for divorce.

Also, if the marriage ended due to abuse, there are legal protections that allow the person to stay safely.

Let’s be careful not to spread fear or misinformation.
