If your feelings change, be honest about it. Don’t let someone figure it out through silence, distant replies, or half-hearted affection. The shift in your tone, the emptiness in your presence, the unanswered calls and fading conversations all say something, but in a way that slowly breaks the other person down. It’s a quiet kind of hurt that lingers. The truth may sting, but it’s far kinder than leaving someone to feel themselves being slowly erased.
