Why are Nigerians still paying for electricity despite poor supply?
Because:

Electricity tariffs are based on estimated cost of generation + distribution, not on actual supply quality.

Distribution companies (DisCos) operate as private businesses and charge for access to the grid.

Metering is still incomplete, so Nigerians pay estimated bills, which are often inaccurate.

This creates a situation where Nigerians pay, but the system still fails.
