Lawyers and their technical terms.
A lawyer's wife has an enduring habit of asking, "How did it go?" every time he returns from court. Despite his gentle suggestions that the technicalities of his work might be tedious or difficult to follow, she remains adamant in her interest.
This particular day, when she posed her usual question, he decided to provide a full report:
"It was quite a session. The plaintiff appeared by proxy, to which I raised a vehement objection. I grounded my arguments in the locus classicus of Opeyemi v. Intercontinental Bank, which opposing counsel attempted to distinguish. After citing a plethora of judicial precedents, I successfully persuaded the Court to jettison the opposing submissions as lacking in merit. Ultimately, the Court exercised its discretion judicially and judiciously in my favor, and the matter was adjourned sine die."
Her response was simple: "I’m just glad you made it home alive."
🤣🤣🤣
@aojlawlounge this is how you confuse us with your technical terms 🤭

If you'll permit me to continue the flow of thought, I'd add this:
"When the court resumes proceedings after service of the hearing notice on the parties, I shall file a notice of preliminary objection and move the court to dismiss the suit in limine."🤣🤣🤣
That’s the most important thing, getting home safe and sound. Case closed. 🤣
Next time, she will just say welcome and stop there 😄
I had to Google Statute equilibrium abi Statuesque anti Belum.
