US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, said the war on Iran has so far cost America $25 billion. And this excludes the damage done to Israel, US allies in the Gulf states, and to US assets in those states.

Hegseth said the US needs additional $1.5 trillion in defense spending in the immediate.

And all for what? All for suspicion that Iran has stockpiles of enriched uranium. When taken up on this request given President Trump's earlier claim that Iran's nuclear facilities had been completely obliterated, Hegseth answered that Iran has not given up on its nuclear ambitions.

In other words, all this money - already spent and requested - is not to make American lives better but to stop Iran.

Does this war make sense? Victory in this war may not lie with which country has superior armament, but which side, between the US and Iran, that incurs less cost. For now, Iran appears to be the victor, though it has itself suffered severe destruction too. See less
