Whoever coined the slogan "Police is your friend" for the NPF may have meant well. At least then.
But the police as we know it today is far from being a friend of anyone. They're not even friends to themselves, by their dog eat dog general conduct.
Most people who have had any kind of encounters with the police have very unflattering view of them.

It's time the police high command came up with a more realistic slogan; "We're working to earn your trust", for example.

AOJ: As a practicing lawyer, I've long change the misnomer to "Police [is] your fiend." Take that to heart, and you'll never be caught in their melee and web of cruelty. None of them can sincerely be your friend. While I'd rather dispatch a junior colleague to handle any matter involving them, if I must...
