So is the problem the system, or is it us?
Nir Eyal argues it's internal. Distraction, he says, begins from within. We don't procrastinate because of our phones. We procrastinate to escape discomfort — boredom, anxiety, self-doubt, the sheer difficulty of hard work. His prescription: develop the internal capacity to sit with discomfort, not find a better app.
Han says the problem is structural. The cultural logic itself is broken.
