World Malaria Day 2026
Globally, 3.3 billion people in 106 countries are at risk of malaria.

Malaria is an ancient and continuously unmatched parasitic cause of human sufferung throught the world.

The term malaria was derived from the medieval italian phrase "mal" "aria" meaning "bad air"

The parasite causing malaria is a protozoan called the plasmodium species carried by the mosquito vector. Common species are plasmodium falciparum, vivax, malariae, ovale and knowlesi.
