"A man walked past a circus and saw an elephant tied to a small wooden stake with a thin rope. He asked the trainer: 'Why doesn't the elephant just break free?'
The trainer said: 'When it was small and weak, we used that same rope and stake. It tried to break free and couldn't. Now it's grown—but it still believes it can't. So it never tries.'
That's most of us.
The rope is small. The stake is weak. But the memory of failure has become a prison.
