To stop 240 millions of Nigerians from paying rent in 2026, the government would need to build large numbers of low‑cost homes, such as:
5 bedroom apartments
Terraced flats
Basic starter homes
These can be built quickly using
Prefabricated materials
Public‑private partnerships
Local construction companies
Cooperative housing schemes
Countries like Ethiopia, Morocco, and Singapore used similar models to reduce rent dependence.
