Nigerian Pop culture curator, Ayomide Oluwasegun Tayo, known as AOT2, called out American rapper Fat Joe for erroneously claiming that Jamaica started #Afrobeats during a conversation with Buju Banton.

"As a person of colour living in America, Fat Joe should be well aware of the dangers of distorting history and pushing fake fact.

Jamaica, the Uk or Liberia did not start Afrobeats. Ghana and Nigeria did. Give us our respect #afrobeats" he wrote.
