Based on the most recent Transparency International data, only about 4 African countries score above 50 on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI)—a threshold often interpreted as indicating relatively lower levels of public‑sector corruption. This means roughly 50 out of 54 African countries are still considered significantly corrupt.
