Opposition and ruling parties often see cooperation as weakness
In many democracies, opposition parties work with the government on national security. In Nigeria, cooperation is often viewed as:

Helping the other side look good

Losing political advantage

Weakening your own party’s narrative

So instead of collaboration, both sides sometimes use insecurity as a political talking point.
