The US is the only country with unilateral veto power in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as it holds more than 16% of the total votes.
Most significant structural changes require an 85% approval threshold. Since the U.S. maintains more than 15% of the votes, it can block any of these decisions.
But somehow some so called political & academic elites in Nigeria & Africa still imagine IMF can ever be their economic friend!
