I often smile when startups say “I don’t compare myself with others.”
It sounds confident but in business it can be limiting.
In professional growth,comparison is called benchmarking.
It is used by strategists, analysts and consultants to study competitors and industry leaders to understand performance gaps and opportunities.

Like minds🫂: I believe one reason they say such is to give themselves hope and justify how their business is currently performing . But healthy competition is advisable especially when you have an edge over others.
