Super Eagles' head coach Eric Chelle shared part of his plans to boost Nigeria’s ranking ahead of #AFCON2027 qualifiers:

"For the big warm up games in June against Poland and Portugal, I will feature my first team players. These are games that can push us up the global ranking if we win them".

Following the #AFCON2025 results, in which the #SuperEagles secured the bronze medal, Nigeria is currently ranked third in Africa in #FIFA rankings, behind Morocco and Senegal.
