Paris court convicted French cement giant Lafarge (now part of Holcim).

Between 2013–2014, Lafarge’s Syrian subsidiary paid about €5.6 million to armed groups — including ISIS — to keep its cement plant operating during the Syrian civil war.

The company and eight former executives were found guilty. Former CEO Bruno Lafont received a six-year prison sentence.

Lafarge had already pleaded guilty in the U.S. in 2022 and paid $778 million for providing material support to terrorist group
