FG Orders Withdrawal of Passports from Nigerians Who Renounce Citizenship

The Federal Government has directed the immediate revocation and deactivation of passports belonging to individuals who have officially renounced their Nigerian citizenship.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said the directive—issued to the Nigeria Immigration Service—follows constitutional provisions stating that anyone who renounces citizenship ceases to be Nigerian.
