As long as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria possesses the right to appoint the INEC Chairman, corruption will never go away from INEC.
That veto power is the breeding ground for corruption in our electoral system. When we talk about reforming our electoral acts, this is one of those things that should be at the forefront.
INEC should be a totally independent body, with the capacity to elect or appoint its own Chairman who should be a well known nonpartisan leader.
