When everyone becomes their own boss, accountability starts to fade.
Being your own boss should mean higher responsibility, but in reality, it often leads to less oversight. Without a system or authority to check actions, personal judgment becomes the only standard and that can be biased. What used to be guided by rules and structure is now driven by individual decisions. Over time, this weakens order, because accountability is no longer enforced, it is optional.

Benedicta: I get your point, but accountability isn’t supposed to be enforced externally forever. Being your own boss should mean more discipline, not less. The problem is not freedom, it’s how people manage it.

Damilare: You're right that it becomes optional in a literal sense, no one is going to fire you from your own life. However, for those who succeed in this model, accountability usually shifts from procedural to consequential.
