What is HIFU?
HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound.
Here's the simplest way to understand it: remember how children use a magnifying glass to focus sunlight on a piece of paper until it burns? HIFU does exactly that — except instead of sunlight, it uses *sound waves* . And instead of paper, the target is a fibroid or tumor inside your body.
Nothing pierces your skin. No scalpel. No stitches. No blood.
