#FIFA has officially announced 52 referees, 88 assistant referees and 30 video match officials for the #WorldCup2026 as part of their “FIFA Team One”.

There's only seven African referees on the list: Mustapha Ghorbal (Algeria), Amin Mohamed (Egypt), Pierre Atcho (Gabon), Jalal Jayed (Morocco), Dahane Beida (Mauritania), Tom Abongile (South Africa), and Omar Artan (Somalia).

Only six women were selected to be match officials, with two main referees: Tori Penso (USA) and Katia Garcia (Mexico).
