One way to distinguish them is this: grief is marked by sadness, while trauma is marked by terror. Grief is often thought of as an adult response to loss, for example, the death of a spouse or loved one.
Trauma reponses can overwhelm and even silence the grief response.
The sudden loss of a father, mother, or sibling can be devastating. In many cultures, family and friends rally around the bereaved, offering support and sometimes even creating WhatsApp groups to raise funds.
