Just like the chemical warfare we fight at the cellular level, using drugs. For example, Zidovudine used to control HIV only works because it's completely similar to thymidine, except that it lack one OH group. This deceives the virus and it takes it in when forming a new DNA, but that missing OH introduces a fatal flaw that prevent the virus from replication. The rules of life are fixed. We didn't make them, we cant break them. But if we understand them we can,we can use them in our favour
