For many Nigerians, this is not about one individual. It is about a system that increasingly rewards family connections over competence. When political offices become inherited privileges, ordinary citizens lose faith in the idea that leadership is open to everyone. Democracy becomes symbolic rather than real.

The concern is not whether Yusuf Buhari has the right to run — every citizen does.
