Why are so many houses being demolished now?
Because many of the permits were issued illegally, often through:

Corrupt FCDA officials

Fake land allocation letters

Fraudulent “re-certification”

Developers building beyond approved boundaries

People buying land from chiefs or “land racketeers” who had no authority

Wike has repeatedly said that most of the demolished structures had no valid approval, or the approval was obtained through fraud.
