Why is Nigeria still in poverty?
Nigeria’s poverty is driven by several long-standing issues:

Overdependence on oil
Oil brings money, but it employs very few people. When oil prices fall, the whole economy suffers.

Weak manufacturing
Nigeria imports almost everything — fuel, food, machinery, even toothpicks.
This drains foreign exchange and kills local jobs.

Insecurity
Farmers can’t farm. Businesses can’t operate safely. Investors stay away.
