Why is Nigeria still in darkness?
Nigeria’s electricity problems are deep-rooted and decades old. Some of the biggest reasons:
Insufficient generation
Nigeria needs over 30,000 MW to power the country. It barely generates 4,000–5,000 MW on a good day.
Poor transmission infrastructure
Even when power is generated, the grid can’t carry it. The grid collapses repeatedly because it’s outdated.
Gas supply issues
Most power plants run on gas, but:
