Brigadier General Samaila Mohammed Uba, commander of the Nigerian Army's 25 Task Force Brigade in Damboa, Borno State, was killed in November 2025 by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists. He was ambushed, captured, and subsequently executed after separating from his convoy near Wajiroko.
