Artemis II Heads Beyond Earth Toward the Moon.

Artemis II has successfully left Earth’s orbit after a flawless translunar injection burn, sending four astronauts toward the Moon.

The Orion spacecraft is now on a looping trajectory around the Moon’s far side, marking the first human journey beyond Earth orbit since 1972. Systems were thoroughly checked before departure, and contingency plans remain in place.

The mission will also allow astronauts to witness a rare solar eclipse in deep space.
