Gabriele Gravina, head of Italy's football federation (FIGC), has resigned. His announcement came a day after Italy's Sport Minister, Andrea Abodi, called on him to resign.

General manager Gianluigi Buffon, former Italy goalkeeper, announced his resignation too.

Head coach Gennaro Gattuso is expected to step down too. He's currently under fire for disgracefully commenting "Africa should have fewer #WorldCup2026 places".
