Saidu Alkali has resigned as Minister of Transportation after meeting with Bola Tinubu, becoming the third cabinet member to step down ahead of the March 31 deadline for appointees seeking elective office.

While others, including Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu, denied resignation rumours, Alkali said he was honoured to serve and is expected to contest the 2027 Gombe governorship race.
