Arguments Saying “NO, Nigeria is NOT better now”
Economic data and many citizens’ lived experiences point in the opposite direction:
Inflation is extremely high, with food inflation above 40%.
Cost of living has skyrocketed, especially fuel prices (from ₦11 in 1999 to over ₦700 in 2025).
The naira has massively depreciated, from ₦80/$1 in 1999 to around ₦1500/$1 in 2025.
Poverty levels have increased, affecting millions.
