Back in 2023, Abba Kabir Yusuf of NNPP won with 1,019,602 votes, he was backed by his God father and Father in law (Kwankwaso).

Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of APC had 890,705, backed by Ganduje.

Abba has defected to APC, while Gawuna has defected to ADC.

Kwankwaso will back Gawuna to defeat Abba in 2027.

While Ganduje will back Abba to return.
