Although this is an embellished version of the original, it stems from deep doubt that the current INEC will truly serve the purpose of democracy—especially given the evidence of how ruling parties have swayed the national electoral body into doing their malicious bidding. Professor Amupitan now has the opportunity to rewrite history and change the trajectory by upholding the rules of the electoral process. Whether or not this is possible remains to be seen as the heat intensifies toward 2027.
