8. Then later in 1887 King Jaja was arrested by the British, taken to Acra, put on trial, convicted and was exiled. He was later released and granted pass home after so many years in exile but he died on his way home, Jaja didn't make it back to Opbo, rumours has it that he might have been poisoned before release others say he was killed by the British.
