Things will never get cheap

One hard truth of modern life is this: things will never get cheap again.

The moment something has value, the market finds it, polishes it, brands it, and pushes the price up.

Food, housing, peace, land, community, even silence. In Nigeria, what should be basic is slowly becoming premium.

That is the real danger. It is not only inflation.

It is that ordinary life itself is being redesigned to cost more.
