Wike political actions portrays him as the proverbial greedy dog that abandoned it’s meal (bone) and ended up chasing shadows (a reference to the Aesop fable where a dog loses its meal by chasing a reflection). His high-stakes political maneuvering in pursuit of broader, possibly unreachable power, might turn out mere larger national political shadow, and result in the loss of his political "bone." and end up bringing him more political trouble than gain.
