Introduction
By definition, trauma is a sudden unexpected, dramatic, forceful, event which involves emotional shock and mental confusion. The epidemic of suicide amongst young people has taught us to look at children differently, to understand their vulnerability and to de-myth the notion that children are resilient and protected from feeling over-whelmed, hopeless or helpless.
