THE MIDNIGHT LADY
The theater lobby was a pressurized chamber of heat, perfume, and ambition. It was alive with the rhythmic hum of voices - a sound that rose and fell like a tide. In the dim corners, shadows moved in pairs, lost in the frantic, stolen urgency of young love. Those standing alone scanned the room with hungry eyes, hoping to rewrite their evening before the first curtain call.
The crowd fell into three distinct tribes.
