In theory:

CNG is stored in high‑pressure, certified cylinders and is lighter than air, so leaks disperse upward.

Properly installed and regulated, CNG can be as safe as petrol or safer in some crash scenarios.

In reality (Nigeria context):

Safety depends on quality of conversions, enforcement, and maintenance.

If people cut corners with cheap, uncertified kits or poorly trained technicians, risk goes up.
