This phrase became popular in Nigeria after a controversial court ruling in which a judge held that forgery, by itself, is not automatically a criminal offense unless it is tied to fraud or intent to deceive under the specific statute being applied.
In other words, the court didn’t literally say forgery is harmless — it said the prosecution failed to prove the elements required to make it a criminal offense under that particular law. Kindly release the students asking for basic human needs
