So is Tinubu afraid of Trump?
Not in the literal sense.
But he is clearly strategically cautious, because:

Trump’s threats are unusually direct.

Nigeria depends on U.S. security cooperation.

Tinubu is already under domestic pressure over insecurity and the economy.

Trump’s rhetoric can inflame Nigerian public opinion, especially among Christian groups.

This creates a situation where Tinubu must tread carefully — which some might interpret as fear, but is more accurately pragmatic diplomac
