Last week, the internet was flooded with stories of people who had spent ten years or more working as outsourced or contract staff in Nigerian banks, enduring little to no salary increases and almost no opportunity for career growth, only to be laid off in the most callous manner without any meaningful benefits. The banks are major culprits in this troubling trend, but they are certainly not the only ones. I will speak on the others some other time.
