Poor Plastic Waste Management Causes Flooding in Lagos – Expert

Dr. Olufemi Idowu-Adegoke, a waste and environmental sustainability expert, has linked Lagos’ recurrent flooding to poor plastic waste management. He explained that plastics block drainage systems, worsening floods.

He urged proper waste segregation, recycling, and public participation, stressing collaboration between residents, government, and organizations to address the issue and reduce environmental and economic impacts.
